Helicopter service can be availed from Bagdogra airport (IXB).

New Jalpaiguri railway station (NJP) is approximately 128 kilometers away i.e. 3 -4 hours drive from Gangtok and is the nearest major rail head. New Jalpaiguri is well connected to the rest of India. There are regular train services to all the major railway station like Chennai, Jaipur, Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc.

It is well connected with NH 31 A and is 117 kilometers away from Siliguri. Darjeeling is 125 Kilometers, 4 hours drive. Kalimpong is approximately 95 Kilometers i.e. 3 hours. Gangtok is the capital of East district and Pakyong is the sub divisional head quarter of East District. Gangtok is located at an altitude of 1780 meters and is a charming, laid – back town. It is the hub of commercial activity is the base for explorations into some of Sikkim’s most alluring features. Prominent feature of this clean town is Orchids, Butterfly, Snow Peak Mountain and beautiful places around, last but not the least the climatic condition are congenial. Package tour can be organized for Gurudongmar, Yumthang and Yumesongdong, known for lakes, snow covered area and hot water springs is worth visiting. One of the hot spot of Sikkim is Tsomga Lake at 3780 meters / Baba Mandir / Nathula Pass at 4392 meters is 56 (38 kilometers Tsomgo Lake and 18 kilometers Nathula Pass) kilometers from Gangtok towards China / Tibet is an oval shaped glacial Tsomga Lake. Open only on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Baba Harbajan Singh Memorial is built in the memory of a Sepoy in the 23rd Punjab Regiment is considered sacred by locals and tourist alike.

Sikkim is divided in to four districts. East Sikkim, West Sikkim, North Sikkim and South Sikkim. Geyzing is the capital of West district and Soreng is the sub – divisional head quarter of West District. Among the fauna to be found in the park area is the famous Snow Leopard. The center of activity in West Sikkim starts from Pelling. Numerous waterfalls, soft trek routes and soothing atmosphere for all discerning are available. Situated at an altitude of nearly 2080 meters i.e. 6825 feet, hence the close up views of Mount Kanchendzonga and her subordinate peaks are dazzling. Sightseeing around the region includes Khecheopalri Lakes, Kanchendzonga falls, Changey waterfalls, Pemayangtse monastery, Sing shore Bridge and much more. Yuksom the old capital of Sikkim is known for its historical value, Kanchendzonga National Park, Dzongri and Goechala trek and Kanchendzonga National Park spreading over an area of 850 square kilometers is one of the most beautiful and spectacular Park in India. Covering the highest elevation range i.e. 1800 meters to 8600 meters approximately in the country. Alpine scrub and the common shrubs found are Mecohopsis, Primula Rhododendron, etc. besides these there are many medicinal plants. Two of the well known trek in are Yuksom - Dzongri Trek - Route - Yuksom – Tshoka - Dzongri - Dzongri - Tshoka – Yuksom and the other is Yuksom - Goechala Trek - Route - Yuksom – Bakhim – Tshoka – Dzongri – Thangsing – Samiti Lake - Goechala - Thangsing, - Dzongri - Tshoka – Yuksom.

North Sikkim - Mangan is the capital of North district and Chungthang is the sub – divisional head quarter of North District. North district is known for two of the finest tourist places Yumthang Valley with hot water spring and Gurudongmar Lake. The other advantage of North is the rhododendron forest which blooms during the spring. To visit Gurudongmar Lake at a height of 5212 meters one has to stay at Lachen. Chopta valley, Green lake trek starts from Lachen. It is scenic due to the alpine meadow from which rise the pine clad mountains with their snowy peaks. Also known as Valley of Flowers.
The road from Gangtok has rhododendron lined along the way makes a fantastic view. The best time to visit is in April & May, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. Chungthang is believed to have been blessed by guru Rimpoche and one can visit the Holy Guru Ihedu to see the foot and palm left behind by the patron saint.Mangan is another place of interest, on the route waterfalls and terrace farming and the snow Peak Mountains makes the drive exhilarating.

Kalapatthar is an offbeat tourist destination of North Sikkim in Lachen axis, situated at an elevation of 14,800ft, close to Indo-Tibetan Border. This place got the name as there are black stone mountains  with snowy peaks . Kalapatthar is normally uninhabitable except for some occasional settlements by Tibetan nomads for grazing their Yaks. Two roads bifurcates from Thangu Village, one road goes to Gurudongmar Lake and other goes to Kalapatthar a distance approx 30mins from Thangu village, on the way to Kalapatthar  panoramic view of Chopta Valley  can be sighted. It's not included in the regular package to visit the place, one has to pay extra .

Historically, this has been a place of recluse for Buddhist Lamas who spend years in meditation amidst the silent scenic grandeur and Yuksom use to be the earlier capital of Sikkim. Other places of interest are Maenam Hill. A trek down to the sacred cave "Shar Chok Bephu" is another option. Borong is a village with beautiful landscape and magnificent view offers its guest panoramic view of the snow clad Kanchendzonga range and the numerous peaks of Himalaya. It also has the hot spring "Borong Tsa – Chu". The trek from Namchi or Damthang to Tendong – Ravangla – Maenam - Borong (5 to 6 days) is one of the well known treks. Varsey rhododendron sanctuary, known for its incredible variety of orchids, rhododendrons, gladioli and a host of other flowers is the main attraction. Flowers spread like carpet under your feet, rich green foliage and riots of colors in the spring i.e. March / April adding to the beauty are surrounding hills, you can just dream of. At an altitude of 3049 meters and a distance of 4 kilometers trek from Hilley which has motor able roads access. The thick forest around one can observe wildlife consisting of dear, black bear, wild boar and a range of birds. This sanctuary abounds in Alpine flowers like Poppies, Primulas and rhododendrons a paradise for nature and forest lover. It’s a park of wilderness attracting nature & adventure lovers.
